Paramour. Terms
Your licence to use the Paramour app is the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. These terms add the rules for using the service. By using Paramour you accept both. If they conflict, Apple's agreement decides the licence and these terms decide the rules below.
The service is run by Paramour (a trading name), 9 Chatteris Way, London SE17 1GY, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@paramour.fun.
Who can use it
Paramour is for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, do not use it. You confirm your age before you can chat, and we may close any account we believe belongs to a minor.
The characters
- Every character is an AI. They are fictional and are not real people, and they do not have real feelings, lives or histories. Their voices and pictures are generated.
- Replies are generated and can be wrong, invented or out of date.
- Replies are not advice. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or mental health decisions. Sleep, step and activity figures, if you share them, are used for conversation and are not a health assessment. For any of these, talk to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line such as 988 (US) or Samaritans on 116 123 (UK).
Your conversations
You choose what you talk about with a character and where a conversation goes. You are responsible for what you ask a character to say or do, for what you send (messages, voice, photos and Moments) and for what you do with the replies. You can change the subject or stop at any time, and you can report any reply. The rules under "What is not allowed" apply to every conversation, call and photo.
What is not allowed
- Any content that shows minors, or anyone who appears to be under 18, in a romantic way. This applies to text, voice, calls and pictures, including photos you send.
- Content that involves anyone who has not agreed.
- Content about real people, including public figures and people you know. Do not send photos of other people without their agreement.
- Using Paramour to harass, threaten or deceive others, to break the law, or to try to get around our safety checks or message limits.
Reporting a reply
If a reply is harmful or breaks these rules, press and hold it, then tap Didn't Feel Right? and choose a reason. The character never sees the report. Reports are stored with the message for us to review. You can also write to hello@paramour.fun.
Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. You can stop using Paramour at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings, then Privacy, then Delete my account). Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; see "Subscriptions" below.
Subscriptions
- Free allowance: without a subscription you can send 5 messages each local day, and then the app shows the subscription screen. A subscription removes that limit. Some features, such as live calls, pictures from characters and messages a character starts, need a subscription.
- Plans: Paramour subscriptions are auto-renewing: 1 week, 1 month or 3 months. The price, in your local currency, and the length are shown on the subscription screen before you confirm. Some plans may start with a free or discounted introductory period. The offer and the price after it are shown before you confirm.
- Payment and renewal: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. If an introductory period has an unused part when you buy, that part is lost.
- How to cancel: in the app open Settings, then Manage Subscription, then Manage in App Store, or open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Paramour and tap Cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.
- Refunds: Apple handles payments and refunds, not us. To ask for a refund go to reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
- If you bought on paramour.fun: payment is taken by RevenueCat's checkout, not Apple; cancel with the link in any payment email we send you.
- Restoring: if you changed phone or reinstalled the app, tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen.
- Prices can change. Apple tells you in advance and asks for your agreement where the law requires it.
Limits
To keep the service available to everyone, we may limit how many messages you can send each day and how quickly you can send them. The app tells you when you reach a limit.
Our responsibility
We provide Paramour as it is and cannot promise it will always be available or error free. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for what you decide or do because of a character's reply.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you in the app about material changes. Continuing to use Paramour after a change means you accept it.
